The Client
Shore Shades & Finishes is a family-owned custom window treatment company based in Bethesda, Maryland. With over 25 years of experience, they specialize in custom shades, blinds, plantation shutters, and motorized window treatments for homeowners across the DC metro area, including Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC. They are rated 5.0 stars and known for their free in-home design consultations, precision measurements, and expert installation.
The challenge: Maxwell, the owner, is constantly on the road doing in-home consultations and installations. He is rarely at a desk and often unable to answer the phone or take time to schedule appointments with new prospects. Every missed call was a potential lost customer. He needed a system that could handle inbound calls, answer product questions, and book walk-through appointments automatically so he could focus on the work in front of him.
The Problem
Running a custom window treatment business means spending most of the day in customers' homes. Maxwell is doing consultations, taking measurements, overseeing installations, and driving between appointments across three states. When a new prospect calls, he is often in the middle of a consultation and cannot pick up. When he does get back to them, the lead has already moved on to a competitor.
The window treatment industry is highly competitive in the DC metro area. Homeowners expect quick responses, detailed product information, and easy scheduling. Maxwell needed a website that did more than just look professional. He needed it to actively work for him by answering calls, engaging website visitors, and booking appointments without any manual effort on his part.
His previous online presence did not capture leads effectively and had no way to handle inbound calls when he was unavailable. He was losing business simply because he could not be in two places at once.
